An Important Message From PLANTPOCKETS Founder’s Daughter During Autism Awareness Month
In the world of special needs, you are accustom to a lot of cant’s wont’s and maybe’s. As a mom, you get tired of discussing limitations. Raising a son with autism has taught me so much. It has actually taught me the opposite of limitations. It has taught me all about freedom. The freedom of not caring what everybody thinks. The freedom of living without limitations. The freedom of seeing the world through a different lens.
As someone who grew up with a love of nature and plants, I am a strong believer in human-plant connection. What I loved about Plantpockets was watching my son feel empowered and confident! He felt no limitations! He could see tangible accomplishment from seed to flower, or seed to fruit.
There is such a beautiful therapeutic healing that comes from connecting with the plants. We know it improves motor skills, enhances creativity, social skills, and improves self-confidence. I’ve personally seen this firsthand, but what’s really unique, is how it benefits each child in their own personal way. For each child, it reaps its own rewards.
Every child deserves to feel connected, empowered, and confident. I truly believe every school should have PLANTPOCKETS! PLANTPOCKETS vertical pockets and growbags are ideal for flowers, fruits, vegetables, vines, and other species of plants, our orchid growers and plant enthusiasts love this product. No competing weeds, little to no maintenance, knitted mesh keeps the plantings cooler, hanging our product keeps most varmints away. Grow and hang outdoors on walls, railings, docks, doors, fences, balconies or where ever you like.
I am a huge advocate for inclusivity. These were a great way to bring kids of all abilities together and promote connection! I am looking forward to having a porch full of these so all my children can grow!
